In Grade 10 we are looking at poetry through both a technical and artistic lens. It is important for students to be able to identify poetic devices or terms (simile, metaphor, etc). Students will be asked to use and apply these devices in their work.
Equally important is being able to interpret tone, mood, and the bigger message from poems.
We will work with traditional poems as well as modern poems and songs.
